1987 Grammy Awards (29th) – Complete List of Winners and Nominees

Held on February 24, 1987, the 29th Annual Grammy Awards celebrated music from October 1, 1985, to September 30, 1986. Paul Simon's groundbreaking Graceland was a major winner, taking Album of the Year.
It was celebrated for its innovative fusion of pop with South African musical styles, demonstrating artistic daring and cultural exploration. Steve Winwood's uplifting and soulful "Higher Love" won Record of the Year.
Bruce Hornsby & The Range, with their piano-driven folk-rock sound, were named Best New Artist. Other prominent winners included Barbra Streisand and Janet Jackson.
